Derek and Jenna are two of my (Lauren) dearest friends from high school.  Some of my favorite memories in Granite Bay include pulling over to the side of East Roseville Parkway just to run through the sprinklers with Jenna on my back, dancing in The Fountains’ fountain pretending to be T-Swift, and sleeping over at Jenna’s and making waffles in the morning.  During our early college years, Derek and I would go to Disneyland about every other weekend with friends or hang out in LA.  It has been amazing to watch both of them grow as individuals over the years, and even more amazing to watch them grow together as a couple.

Jenna is truly one of the warmest people you will ever meet.  She could make anyone feel welcome anywhere at anytime.  Her enthusiasm is contagious and unforgettable.  For all these reasons and more, grandmas not only love her, but fondly ask about her often (at least all of mine do).

Derek is extremely witty and can always make you laugh.  He is also very thoughtful and hardworking.  Through him, I have seen perseverance demonstrated time and time again.  The Lord has grown him immensely to treasure His word deeply and be a man after His own heart.

Together, they are all that and more.  Jenna and D, we are so excited for the adventure the Lord has ahead of you!

(above) Jenna got Derek a sweet handmade backpack from Bradley Mountain! (below) When Derek proposed, he wrote Jenna poems about different stages throughout their relationship, which she heard from friends and family before he got down on one knee.  For his present to her, he compiled these poems into an accordion fold album and wrote her a heartwarming poem about their wedding day.  Before he sent it off to her, he read it for his groomsmen and father.

Arden, Jenna’s maid of honor, then delivered the poem to Jenna.

Derek gave his groomsmen these amazing handmade wallets, also from Bradley Mountain!

Friends from their church pulled together for all the set up and decorations, including their awesome burlap and lace table runners, napkin rings, escort cards and more!

Jenna’s one request was that Derek make a swing for their wedding day!

As a birthday present to our dear friend Ashley, her roommates thought of the wonderful idea to do a roommate photo shoot!!! These five girls are very close friends of mine and I’ve even known Ashley since High School! I will cherish countless memories crashing their apartment, eating their food (all of them are amazing cooks/bakers), dancing to loud music, and late night poker/fishbowl nights!!! I had such a fun time adventuring with these beautiful ladies in and around Pacific Palisades, CA and afterwards had a nice treat at our favorite frozen yogurt place The Yogurt Shoppe. We found dirt, the color green, and trees in LA (sooo happy)!!! I also had a great opportunity to perfect my technique with my new-ish Canon 24L TS-E Mark II (Tilt Shift). All of these photos were either taken with my 135L or the 24L.
